PIKEVILLE, KENTUCKY: Mark A. Gooch, Chairman, President and CEO of Community Trust Bancorp, Inc., announced that Senior Vice President, Corporate Senior Lender Gary K. Young has retired from Community Trust Bank, Inc. effective January 10, 2025. Chris Johnson has been promoted to the position that Mr. Young formerly held.
Mr. Young worked for Community Trust Bank for more than 39 years. In his position as Corporate Senior Lender Mr. Young led the commercial lending support activities of Community Trust Bank. He previously worked as a teacher at Belfry High School and worked in the coal industry for more than a decade.
Mr. Young graduated from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He also earned a Master’s degree in Education from Morehead State University. He was a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking, the banking industry's preeminent graduate-level banking program.
Mr. Young has been a member of Stone Lodge F & AM in Stone, Kentucky for over 50 years. He and his wife Vickie reside in Sevierville, Tennessee.
